San Francisco Track and Field Club 2014 athletic scholarships

2014 SFTFC athletic scholarships have been awarded. No applications are accepted as of June 1, 2014

The San Francisco Track and Field Club (SFTFC) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that the Club will award athletic scholarships in 2014 for those competing in the Gay Games 9 in Cleveland/Akron.

SFTFC is making $7,500 available for the scholarships. The Board will determine the final amount awarded to each individual depending on the number of applicants, subject to a maximum of $1,000. To be eligible, athletes need to fulfill the following requirements:

  1. Athletes shall compete under San Francisco Track & Field Club. This means that the SFTFC contingent that is competing must wear team uniforms during the meet. Athletes shall support fellow team members in events over non-team members.
  2. Athletes need to have volunteered in at least two fundraising events in 2014. The possible events are:
    • San Francisco Rock’n’Roll Half Marathon: April 6 (Sunday)
    • San Francisco Pride: June 29 (Sunday)
    • Folsom Street Fair: September 21 (Sunday)
    • Castro Street Fair: October 4 (Sunday)
  3. Athletes to provide proof of payment (registration receipt) above scholarship amount (could be submitted at a later date)
  4. SFT&FC reserves the right to change the scholarship amount. Applicant must return the full scholarship amount in case of cancellation of competition.
  5. Athletes must regularly attend Sunday team practices.
  6. Deadline for submission is May 31, 2014.

SFTFC does not guarantee that every applicant will receive a scholarship and has the right to decline an application based on the above requirements. If approved, the scholarship checks will be awarded by June 15, 2014. Please download the application, complete and send it to:
