San Francisco Track & Field Club members Bob Callori, Chris Goodwin, Marcus Valera and Jon Cain scoped out the 8 lane facilities at the Lee R. Jackson Track and Field Complex at the University of Akron last week where Gay Games athletes will compete in relays as well as 800m and 1500m events. Longer distance events will occur on two different days, with runners from around the world competing in the 5K and 10K road race competitions. The marathon and half marathon at the 2014 Gay Games will be run in Akron through the streets of the city. Gay Games 9 www.gg8cle.com expects over 600 runners of all skill levels to take part in this challenging event. Participants registering for the Marathon and Half Marathon are eligible to compete in the 5K and 10K Road Races without paying an additional fee when they complete their event registrations. The Games will held from Aug 9-16 in both Akron and Cleveland. Contact Bob at callori@sbcglobal.net for details, inquiries or a souvenir GG9 wrist band.
