With the start of spring here, coached practices are now back into full swing. Coach Shannon Maas and Coach Joe Mangan return to work with our Sprint Squad and our Distance Team, respectively. Coach Maas has 14 years of track coaching experience at the college level, and is currently the Head Track and Field Coach at San Francisco State University. Coach Mangan has decades of coaching experience, most recently at College of San Matteo before retiring a few years ago. We are so glad to have them back with us this season!
Distance Team practices begin with a group warm up every Sunday at 9:30am at the track behind Ruth Asawa School of the Arts on Portola Drive. Sprint Squad practice warm up and drills begin at 10:00 am on Sundays at Ruth Asawa School of the Arts, and at 5:30pm most Wednesdays at San Francisco State University. These coached practices will continue weekly through mid-June. Stay tuned for more information on the return of coached Throws practices; throwers are currently meeting unofficially most Sundays at 11am at Lincoln High School.
We welcome everyone to join our coached practices, whether you are an elite colligate athlete or just starting to run. If you are interested to see if we might be a good fit to support your personal goals, please come to practice.
