Overnight rain cleared up, and it turned up to be a perfect morning for team track practice. With April almost gone, we have 15 weeks left until Gay Games 9 in Cleveland + Akron. We’d better put our training in high gear, and we did. The 400m group did one set of 600m, 500m and 450m high intensity running with a 6-minute break between. The goal was to gain race pace but maintain a good form. As volume increases, our form tends to degrade and this is a good workout to focus on the form while trying to run at near race pace.
Since we are ramping up for our competition in August, Coach Mark will help us get to where we want to be by providing us with supplemental workout programs that you could use during the week. Stay tuned for the information about the supplemental training program.
